Namrta Sharma is an assistant clinical professor at the School of Public Policy, where she
teaches courses on public policy, leadership and research methods. She is also a senior fellow at
the Institute for Public Leadership at the University of Maryland. Her research focuses on the
role of leadership in effective public management and she has been published in Public
Administration and Development and the Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration.
Before joining the University of Maryland, Sharma held leadership positions in India's
Department of Agriculture.
Sharma holds a master’s degree in physics and public policy and a PhD in public affairs
from the University of Texas at Dallas.
